No photo of the week last week because I was in the middle of a move. I’m mostly unpacked, still think it’s weird I live in Florida, and trying my best to enjoy it.

I don’t know why, but I’ve been thinking a lot about the Salton Sea lately. Why it’s been on my mind I really can’t say. I think this image best describes my state of mind though and the way a photograph can describe something better than words makes this perfect for the photo of the week.

Lately I’ve been missing home more than ever. Maybe it’s because I am about to move again and am reminded of all the hardships that come with leaving the friends you’ve made and people you value, or maybe it’s because I haven’t found a place quite like the one I left. Either way, this weeks photo is dedicated to home.

I read Mark Tuckers blog religiously. Then one day my Mac had some sort of catastrophic failure which required a new hard drive. Needless to say the blog that I once enjoyed so much was gone from my bookmarks and with all that I’ve been going through I neglected to find it again.
When I did rediscover his blog I read the post about his dog, Clyde. I was moved by the post about his dog, Dottie, and when I saw the post about Clyde I realized we have no pictures of our dogs.
Fred, with us for 12 years now and still as goofy as the first day we got him. Some love him and some hate him but whatever your opinion there’s no denying he’s a character.

My photo for the week. This image from a long-term project about California that I’ve been working on, less diligently than I should be. The Palm trees from “In California” are all about appearances. They’re everywhere, good neighborhoods, bad neighborhoods, absolutely everywhere. It’s a symbol of California with its glamorous roots and deceiving looks.

It’s been a long while, a year in fact, since my last post. I’ve been wrapped up in things, and for a time photograph has had to take the backseat in my life. Trying to get a start as a photographer has proven to be a difficult task indeed.
Finding the time to generate business, between working and trying to maintain a “life”, has been difficult to say the least. I am back now though with new work and a new drive to be the best that I can. Attached is the photo of the week, enjoy.

That’s right, I’m back. I’ve been busy with other things for quite a while now, but finally made it back to the blog. More importantly I’ve finally had the chance to get out and do some photography.
This last weekend I had the pleasure of doing some photography for a friend’s upcoming catalog. Take a peek at the results, here, and then maybe swing over here, and buy some jewelry.
I’d like to thank everyone involved in the shoot for their patience, cooperation, and willingness to be a part of the shoot.
